Benzema was forced to limp out of the field just 30 minutes into the game. Initially, there was concern that he would be absent for a long time. After the CL match, Real Madrid confirmed in a press conference that Benzema has suffered a quad injury and will be out of action for at least thirty days.

The defending European Champions travelled to Glasgow for their opening game of the campaign. The atmosphere around the Celtic Park was buzzing all around as they welcomed their hometown side against the European Champions.
