Lil Baby Released After Being Detained For Possession Of Cannabis In France, James Harden Stopped As Well By Paris Police

American rapper Lil Baby whose real name is Dominique Jones, and NBA star James Harden were stopped by the Paris police after a strong smell of Marijuana from their car

Dominique Jones who’s stage name is Lil Baby and Brooklyn Nets star James Harden were in town for Paris Fashion Week when their car was stopped by plainclothes police because a strong smell of cannabis was coming from their car. According to French police officials who spoke on condition of anonymity because they weren’t authorized to be publicly named.

Police Frisked Harden but did not detain him, whereas on the other hand Lil Baby and his bodyguard were detained for illegal possession of Cannabis and were taken into custody on suspicion of transporting drugs. They were released from jail on Friday morning after being handed fines, according to the prosecutor’s office.

What did the French police say after checking Lil Baby and James Harden car

The official said that Lil Baby, whose real name is Dominique Jones, initially refused to allow police to check the car as they were in plainclothes. Lil Baby was tensed and did not allow them to check the car but once the uniformed officials came, everything was civil and all the parties co-operated.

Harden, meanwhile, posted photos online soon before the arrest of the two friends at various Paris locales but hasn’t commented publicly since the incident.

James Harden NBA Career

James Harden, the 2018 NBA Most Valuable Player, played for Houston Rockets before joining the Nets this season. He briefly committed to play with the U.S. men’s national team at the Tokyo Olympics later this month but has since told the national team that the hamstring injury which he suffered in the NBA will keep him out of the Olympics and has to focus on the new NBA Season with the Nets.

Cannabis is legal in some states of America and it is not considered a big crime. In fact, many people in France and the whole world believe that Cannabis should be decriminalized and no criminal charges should take place for the possession of Cannabis.
