Watch ZIM vs BAN Test Live: Taskin Ahmed Decides To Dance In Blessing Muzarbani’s Face, Both Fined By ICC

In an inexplicable piece of sporting action, Bangladesh’s Taskin Ahmed decided to dance after surviving a delivery from Zimbabwe’s Muzarbani

Over the course of cricket’s illustrious history, there have occurred a raft of unsavoury incidents on the field. However, despite the slew of fights and shenanigans during matches, if there’s one country which is universally disliked, its Bangladesh.

Despite being one of the more lowly ranked sides in the game, the Bangladesh side has refused to be deterred by its dismissal performances. The side has indulged in some extremely cringeworthy antics over the years with the most notable ones being of them dancing against Indian and Shakib-al-Hasan breaking the wickets during a recent Dhaka Premier League tie.

Taskin Ahmed Bursts Into A Dance During Zimbabwe vs Bangladesh Test Match

Adding his name to that long list of crass incidents is Bangladesh’s bowler, Taskin Ahmed. The bowler broke into a dance on the pitch during the ongoing Zimbabwe vs Bangladesh test match.

The moment which took place during the 85th over of the showdown saw Taskin perplexingly enough deciding to show off his moves. Surviving a delivery from Zimbabwe’s Blessing Muzarbani, Taskin went onto dance in Muzarbani’s face.

Perturbed by what was going on infront of him, Muzarbani made his disgust blatantly evident as he gave Taskin a long and hard stare down. The two went onto indulge in a war of words before play resumed.

ICC has meanwhile rightfully so decided to come down hard on the incident. Both Muzarbani and Taskin have been fined by the governing council for their altercation along with being handed one demerit point.

While the demerit point for the level one charge doesn’t affect the two’s disciplinary record with both having a clean slate prior to this, the punishment is one much warranted. Both the players admitted their guilt and accepted the sanctions which were suggested by match referee Andy Pycroft and subsequently brought into effect by the ICC Cricket Operations department as per the ongoing COVID-19 playing regulations.

Umpires Marais Erasmus and Langton Rusere, third umpire Iknow Chabi and fourth official Forster Mutizwa had enforced the charges against the duo. The two were found guilty of having breached Article 2.1.12 of the ICC Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel, which is brought into play when any deranged behaviour occurs on the pitch.
