The tragic news of his demise was confirmed by Los Angeles Time as in their report, the outlet wrote, “His greatest love in life was his family, and he was blessed to be married to the love of his life, his true soulmate, Kathy. Richard was blessed with the best of both worlds.”
The cause of the actor’s death is yet unknown.

Richard Roat was born on July 3, 1933 in Hartford, Connecticut.
Throughout his career i.e, nearly 50 years, Richard managed to receive an impressive 130 credits under his name.
His noteworthy films include Cheers, Murphy Brown, Hawaii Five-O, Happy Days among many others.
Aside from the big screen, Roat has appeared in many television series such as The Doctors, The Fugitive, Hawaii Five-O, The Mary Tyler Moore Show and many more.
Speaking of his appearances in television series, Richard has appeared for more than 170 episodes of The Doctors, where he played the character of Dr Jerry Chandler.
Later, he appeared in the Fugitive, following that his career as an actor flourished.
Since then he appeared in many memorable comedies and dramas such as Columbo, Cannon, Kojak, The Bob Newhart Show, Police Story, Vega$, Fantasy Island, Happy Days, Charlie’s Angeles and Dallas.
Roat also appeared as a guest star in Seinfeld’s Season 8 in 1998 and Friends in 2000. In Friends i.e, the biggest television show at the time, Richard played the role of a fellow professor.
