As the assembly elections approach in the state of Gujarat and also in other states, the leaders of the Aam Aadmi Party start giving speeches about their new-state-of-art education hubs.

Reportedly, some BJP leaders captured the videos of ground-reality during their visit to Delhi government run schools.

According to a report by deshgujarat.com, on April 11, a BJP MP from South Delhi, Ramesh Bhiduri took to his Twitter handle to post a clip of a school in Delhi.

As per the report, the video showed broken cupboard doors in the classroom as well the broken windows.

The MP, Ramesh Bidhuri, captioned the tweet as, “Wah! The reality of world-class school of world lier Arvind Kejriwal in Delhi. There are 70 rooms in the school against 5000 children. There are not enough teachers and no clean water”.

According to the report, Later, another BJP MP from West Delhi, Parvesh Sahib Singh Verma also visited the government-run school and claimed that the condition of these schools was deplorable.

He allegedly tweeted videos of the schools visited by him in his constituency and said that he was informed by the staff that children were forced to study in a building that was declared ‘dangerous.’

In another tweet, he posted a clip in which he alleged that the walls and ceilings of the schools can fall at any time. He even went on to ask the Chief Minister of National Capital and his party member Manish Sisodia, if they will teach their children in these schools.

Later, on the same day, Singh went on to have a media interaction, where he said, “I want to tell Delhi CM and Dy CM that if they have built new schools in Delhi, then they should share their physical address. They don’t give physical addresses when we ask.”

Taking a dog at Dy CM, while his visit to Gujarat, Singh said in a statement, “I want the people of Gujarat to send back Mr. Sisodia to Delhi so that I can show him the poor condition of Delhi government run schools.”

As per the report by the outlet, ThePrint had reported earlier that in Delhi government run schools, half of the students of class 9 fail in effect only 50% of the enrolled students go on to take the class 10 and class 12 board exams. The pass percentage in 10th has dwindled to the lwoer 80s level while it was at a healthy 90% before the AAP governement came into power.

More than 66% of Delhi government schools don’t offer science to students in Class 11 and 12 with 17,271 out of 33,086 vacancies for teachers yet to be filled. As is the innate insatiable thirst of the AAP government, Rs.19 crore were spent on all India advertisements in newspapers, TV and hoardings for the Delhi Higher Education and Skill Development Gaurantee scheme which only gave out loans to two children as revealed in a RTI.

In April this year, the apex court child rights body NCPCR (National Commission for Protection of Child Rights) pointed out that only 203 out of 1,027 government schools in Delhi have a headmaster.

As per the outlet, Later, on April 12, NCPCR even wrote a letter to Delhi Secretary Vijay Dev to describe the discrepancies found by them in which they also include the vacant post of the Head of the School.

The number of students is 15,000 fewer than during the tenure of Shiela Dikshit and there are no new admissions, no new appointment of teachers and there are 50 percent vacancies.
