The KGF Wolves defeated Mandya Bulls 7-2 to win the first season of the 2022 GPBL. PV Sindhu, the Indian icon of badminton, was also present to attend the last match of the 2022 GPBL at the Karnataka Badminton Association.

In the women’s singles tie, Vinayakumar gave Wolves the perfect start after winning her game against Ananya Praveen. Moving onto the men’s double trump, the pair of Asith Surya / Sai Pratheek defeated Hemanth Gowda / Prakash Raj to give the Bulls a 2-1 lead in the match.

Moving forward to men’s singles, Naren A Iyer secured the third win for the Wolves after beating Anirudh Deshpande. In mixed doubles, the pair of Suhas V / Amurtha P provided the fourth victory to the Wolves after defeating Madhusudan M / Ruth Misha Vinod. The victory for the Wolves in mixed doubles further strengthened their lead over the Bulls.
With three points at stake in the final Super Match trump Game, the trio of Hemanth / Prakash / Suhas bagged the full points to seal the title for the Wolves. The Wolves got the check for Rs 24 Lakh while the runner-up, Mandya Bulls was awarded the Rs 12 Lakh prize money.
Hemanth Gowda was named the player of the tournament and was rewarded with prize money of Rs 25,000.
