The viral video of New York domestic violence has shaken up the world and has been trending on Twitter for a while now, especially in India.
In the video, a 30-year-old Indian-origin woman Mandeep Kaur, who’s a resident of New York was seen. Mandeep has died by committing suicide on August 3, after repeated domestic abuse allegedly by her husband Ranjodhbeer Singh Sandhu for 8-years.
The domestic violence video has gone viral showing Sandhu, who’s beating her wife brutally and mercilessly while wrapping her mouth with clothes so that she couldn’t scream and not even make an echo.
While the husband kept beating down his wife brutally, a voice of the children (probably a girl) can be heard in the background, who’s kept crying and requesting her father not to beat her mother.
The child kept saying to her father that, “Papa, Naa maro mumma nu’ (Father don’t beat mother)”.
According to a report by Quint, Mandeep Kaur is survived by her two daughters aged 4 and 6, whose custody currently lies with Sandhu.
While the father and his daughters are currently in Richmond Hill, New York, their family is reportedly from India’s Uttar Pardesh State’s Bijnor.
Reportedly, before committing suicide, Mandeep had shared a video of herself narrating the ordeal of domestic violence abuse that she had been facing since the past 8 years.
In the viral video, Mandeep was seen saying, “I am really very sad. It has been eight years. I have tried my best. I was beaten up every day. I have been suffering him and his beatings, thinking that he will improve someday.
But no, he beat me up for eight years. Had extra-marital affairs. We lived there (in India) for the first two and a half years and it was hell”.
According to reports, the NYPD has registered the case as a homicide in place of suicide and is currently investigating the case.
