2022 Commonwealth Games – Men’s Hockey Semi-final Schedule, Day, Time, Venue, And India vs South Africa Preview

The Indian men’s hockey team, a two-time silver medalist, will face South Africa in the 2022 Commonwealth Games semifinal on Saturday at the University of Birmingham Hockey and Squash Center. With 10 points from four games under Manpreet Singh’s leadership, the team not only secured a spot in the semi-finals, but also edged out the hosts, England, to take first position in Group B. Over the course of four games, the men in blue scored 27 goals, with vice-captain Harmanpreet Singh scoring nine of them. Only two goals separate Harmanpreet, who is the tournament’s second-highest scorer, from Nicholas Bandurak of England.

Only five goals have been scored against India, which is impressive from a defensive standpoint. In a 4-4 tie with England, four of those goals were given up, and for a substantial portion of the game, the Indian squad was down to 10 men due to numerous bans for defender Varun Kumar and a yellow card followed by a 10-minute suspension for striker Gurjant Singh.
