CWG 2022 Artistic Gymnastics Events, Results, Upcoming Schedule Day 9, Date, Time, And Venue
Marfa Ekimova, the current national champion from England, won the nation’s first-ever rhythmic gymnastics individual all-around gold medal at Birmingham 2022. The 17-year-old led right away with a top score of 28.850 in the hoop before clinching victory with a score of 27.100 in the ribbon, giving her a total of 112.300 points at the Arena Birmingham. Ekimova was the last to compete out of the 16 athletes, and she edged off Anna Sokolova, who finished in second, by just 0.200 to win the championship.
Going into the final discipline, the ribbon, Ekimova had a lead of 0.700 points. She got a score of 27.100 before Sokolova, who needed a score of 27.801 to win, scored a score of 27.600. Alexandra Kiroi-Bogatyreva of Australia finished third overall with a score of 111.100 points.
