Mike Hazen confirmed in a statement that his wife Nicole had passed away and the cause of her death is said to be a brain cancer tumor, know her obituary

The Arizona Diamondbacksโ GM announced the tragic news of his wifeโs demise this week. The baseball community is mourning the death of Nicole and many have sent their prayers and condolences to Mike and their 4 children.

Nicole Hazen Passed Away at 45
Nicole Hazen was fighting brain cancer for 2 years. She was diagnosed with Glioblastoma in July 2020, a rare and aggressive form of Brain cancer.
She even underwent a surgery and a 6-week cycle of chemotherapy and radiation after her diagnosis.
Nicole’s family released a statement saying, “Nicole lived her life and loved her family with fierceness and devotion. She spent every day in the service of others as a mother, wife and educator advocating for goodness”.
Statement further reads, “From our family, we remain forever grateful for the love, support and random acts of kindness bestowed upon us for the last two years and four months.
We would not have been able to walk down this road, with her, without the help and generosity of our community. Glioblastoma slowly took her capacity to speak, walk, talk and lead but never took her capacity to love her children, family and friends”.

Her Family
Nicole, who was born as Nicole Marie Ferrara grew up in Cleveland and met Mike when he was working as an assistant for the Cleveland Indians. He spent 5 seasons with the team.
After tying the knot, they both moved to Boston where took a job with the Red Sox.
Later, they again moved to Phoenix, Arizona for Mikeโs job with the Diamondbacks baseball team, where Nicole took a teaching job at the St. Francis Xavier school.
After learning the news of her fellow teacher, the School Principal, Ryan Watson said, Nicole was an, “absolutely treasured faculty member”.
He further said, “Just the amount of sheer toughness – mentally, physically, emotionally, spiritually – just her toughness and her grit, that was the example she wanted to set for her students. It was unparalleled”.
The sports community and Diamondbacks fans are mourning the death of Nicole and many have paid their heartfelt tributes on social media.
In the previous year, Arizona Diamondbacks, launched a Fund with Nicole Hazen name in the hope to raise funds for cancer research.
