The international governing body of cricket announced on Wednesday that five players, including Indian fast bowler Renuka Singh, had been nominated for ICC Player of the Month honours for July.

She had a stellar start to India’s quest for the Commonwealth Games gold in Birmingham, sharing the lead in wicket-taking for her team’s ODI series in Sri Lanka with seven wickets at a superb average of 12.85.
Her best performance of the month was perhaps when she demolished Australia’s top order in their opening match, taking four wickets for 18 runs, only for her team to be decisively defeated by Australia’s bottom order.

Who Is Renuka Singh?
Renuka Singh is a well-known female Indian cricketer who has recently been in the news because she was recently nominated for ICC Player of the Month honours for July because of her recent spectacular performances.
Her full name is Renuka Singh Thakur. She was born on 1 February 1996 in Shimla, Himachal Pradesh, India. She is a native of the state’s Parsa village, which is close to Rohru town and is a Hindu by religion.
Her father apparently worked in the Himanchal Pradesh Irrigation and Public Health department in Rohru before he passed away in 1999. He was also a cricket fan which served as an inspiration for Renuka Singh.
Sunita, Singh’s mother, took over as the family’s primary provider after that. In her family, he also has a brother named Vinod. Presently, she is 26 years old. Her height stands at 5 feet 4 inches and she’s unmarried.

Renuka Singh began her career in 2009 when she joined the women’s residential academy of the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association in Dharmshala, with the help of her uncle Bhupender Singh Thakur.
She received coaching from Pawan Sen and Veena Pandey at the academy. She competed in the U-16 and U-19 for Himachal Pradesh. She was then chosen to play in a women’s one-day match in 2019 for the Board of Cricket Control in India (BCCI).
With 23 dismissals, Singh has the most wickets taken in the 2019–20 Senior Women’s One Day League. Singh received her first call-up to the Indian women’s cricket squad in August 2021 for their series against Australia. On October 7, 2021, she played her first Women’s Twenty20 International (WT20I) match for India against Australia.
Renuka Singh was selected to play for India in the 2022 Women’s Cricket World Cup in New Zealand in January 2022. She played for India against New Zealand on February 18, 2022, in her first Women’s One Day International (WODI).
She was selected to play for India in the cricket competition at the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, England, in July 2022.
