Who is David Rubenstein?
David Rubenstein was born in Chicago, Illinois in 1951. He is the co-founder and chairman of The Carlyle Group, a private equity firm. He also has a personal net worth of $13.8 billion as of March 2016, making him the 116th richest person in the world.
David Rubenstein is married to Jane Pratt. They have two children. The white-haired, bespectacled Rubenstein, who divorced after a long marriage in 2017, is also a history lover who has been nicknamed the “Patriotic Philanthropist” in adoring biographies that correspond with his birth tale.
According to public records, the Carlyle Group began managing Permanent Fund assets in 2005 and now manages just under $1 billion of the fund. In the early 2000s, the Carlyle Group was the subject of various conspiracy theories, many of which concentrated on its close ties to the Bush family, the Saudis, and the military-industrial complex. Dan Briody’s 2003 book, ‘The Iron Triangle: Inside the Secret World of the Carlyle Group,’ exposed the organization’s allegedly unscrupulous business methods.
