As a result, the backwards-compatible older Xbox games will no longer be available in August and September.

Microsoft admitted that this significant change was being driven by the fact that it can no longer add as many Xbox 360 titles to service each month, not by a desire to alter the subscription model.
The good news is that there will still be four games in total in August. Here are some upcoming events for fans.
GAMES WITH GOLD REVEAL SCHEDULED FOR AUGUST 2022
The Games of Gold August 2022 announcement date has not been set by Microsoft, however, it will be made public before August 1.
The announcement will most likely be made public the next week, or closer to the end of July 2022.
This is based just on the tech giant’s most recent practice, which it has been following since March, of publishing news after the 27th of every month.
On August 1, the first two Games with Gold titles on the schedule will go live. Four in all, two from Xbox One but the rest from Xbox 360, will be released over the upcoming weeks.
According to a statement Microsoft made earlier this year to subscribers, this will change in October:
“This will not impact any Xbox 360 games that you downloaded before October 2022. Any Xbox 360 titles that you redeem via Games with Gold before that time are yours to keep on your Xbox account, regardless of whether you continue your subscription.”
No information about what might be included has leaked, and there is no reason to believe that every unexpected Xbox Series X game will be added to the mix.
Without any significant insider leaks, Xbox Game Pass will only offer the majority of the largest games.
What happens after that is unknown. In August, the routine schedule will be followed.
This means a second batch will become available on June 16 when the first two free games. Which were sourced via Xbox One and Xbox 360, go live.
