The Pakistani leg spinner is a huge fan of Aussie great Shane Warne. Warnes’s outrageous delivery to Mike Gatting on June 4 1993 was termed as Ball of the century. That delivery was unplayable for any batsman as the ball spun from outside of the leg stump and clipped the Top of Off. It was recreated by Yasir Shah against Sri Lanka in the first test of the ongoing series.
Kusal Mendis was set in the crease with 76 runs and had no answer to the delivery. It has exactly the same amount of spin and bounces as Shane Warnes Ball of the century.
