The 2024 Odisha State Book Fair commenced yesterday at the Exhibition Ground in Bhubaneswar, heralding its sixth edition with much enthusiasm. Scheduled to run until December 17, the event was inaugurated by Surama Padhy, Speaker of the Odisha Legislative Assembly. With 400 stalls showcasing an extensive collection of books from 200 publishers and booksellers, the fair is a vibrant celebration of literature and culture.

The sixth edition of the Odisha State Book Fair 2024 kicked off on 6 December at the Exhibition Ground, Unit-3, Bhubaneswar.

Notable contributors include media agencies, government departments, the Odisha Sahitya Academy, and the Odisha State Museum, each showcasing their respective stalls. The initiative has been organized through the collaborative efforts of the Odisha Language, Literature, and Culture Department, alongside associations such as the Odisha Book Publishers and Sellers Association, Odisha Publishers Association, Rajdhani Book Fair, and Ekamra Book Fair.

Themed around the lives of luminaries like Dr. Harekrushna Mahatab, Lord Buddha, Birsa Munda, and other freedom fighters, the fair offers visitors an opportunity to delve into rich historical and cultural narratives.
