50th Annual Cake Show in Bengaluru attractions
An exquisite 250-kg culinary work of art honouring Tata’s long history in business and charity was unveiled by the Institute of Baking and Cake Art (IBCA) at the 50th Annual Cake Show. The centrepiece, which was made over ten days by a crew under the direction of Santanu, Mahesh, and Rahul, included a realistic sugar bust of Tata.
A sugar-crafted globe representing Tata’s worldwide influence surrounded the bust, and airplanes were positioned around it to symbolize his contribution to the revival of Tata Airlines. Tiny books with the names of Tata Group enterprises, including Titan, Tata Steel, and Tata Motors, were on display on a fondant bookshelf at the sculpture’s base.
The intricate details, such the globe’s hand-painted parts and the bust’s precisely sculpted face features, demonstrated the enormous amount of talent and expertise that went into this piece.
IBCA honoured SM Krishna with a 280-kg cake in addition to Tata’s homage. This life-size sugar sculpture reflected Krishna’s dignified demeanour by showing him sitting at a desk. The desk was constructed with layers of stacked cake that had been meticulously cut and covered in fondant to give the appearance of wood.
Work files, Krishna’s trademark accoutrements, and a tiny Indian flag, all made with fondant and gum paste, surrounding the desk. The cake was a lovely way to honour Krishna’s important contributions to Karnataka’s growth. In addition to honouring the people they honoured; these two outstanding works of art demonstrated the incredible talent and ability of the cake artists at IBCA.
