National Games of India 2022 Results Today, Day 6 Schedule, Event Summary, And Medal Winners
On the final day of Athletics event at National Games, Uttar Pradesh athlete Ram Baboo set a new national record for the 35km race walk with a timing of 2:36:34. 23-year-old Ram Baboo’s mark helped him become first ever 35-km race walk gold medalist at the National Games.
Jyothi Yarraji of Andhra Pradesh won the 100-meter hurdles race and became the first Indian woman to complete 100-meter hurdles in less than 13 seconds. Meanwhile, 100-meter race winner Amlan Borgohain also bagged gold medal in 200-meter race with a timing of 20:55.
In women’s singles tennis final, Gujarat’s Zeel Desai will play Karnataka’s Sharmada Balu. Meanwhile in men’s doubles final, Karnataka duo of Prajwal Dev & Adil Kalyanpur bagged gold medal after winning in straight sets with score of 6-3, 6-4 against Dhruv Hirpara & Madhwin Kamat duo of Gujarat. In women’s doubles final, Karnataka duo of Sharmada Balu & Soha Sadiq settled for silver medal after losing 4-6, 4-6 against Maharashtra pair of Rutuja Bhosale & Vaishnavi Adkar.
In women’s singles final of badminton, Malvika Bansod will face Aakarshi Kashyap while Aditi Bhatt and Tanya Hemanth will play with bronze medal at stake. Elsewhere, Tamil Nadu defeated Goa by score of 7-0 to advance for semi-final stage of women’s football event.
