As Nagaland gets ready to host to the 25th Hornbill Festival 2024, excitement is building with attendees wanting to know the schedule and tickets price
The countdown to this historic celebration of 25th Hornbill Festival began recently with the unveiling of a revised logo by Abu Metha, Advisor to the Chief Minister of Nagaland.
Metha shared his excitement about the upcoming festival. “The music festival is going to be one of the biggest ever international events… with headliners galore!”

The 25th Hornbill Festival will be taking place from 1 Dec 2024 to 10 Dec 2024. The visitors can stay at Hotel Japfu, Hotel Kohima, Hotel Vivor, and Razhu Pru.

Since its beginning in 2000, the Hornbill Festival named after the Indian hornbill bird has grown to become an important part of Nagaland’s culture. Originally launched as a government project to encourage inter-tribal dialogue and highlight Naga cultural legacy, it has developed into a popular tourist destination that draws tourists from all across India and the globe.
Called the “Festival of Festivals,” the occasion offers a wide range of events that showcase the unique customs of the Naga people. The 16 largest tribes in the state will showcase lively performances of traditional music, dance, cuisine, and crafts for attendees to enjoy. Situated approximately 12 kilometers from Kohima, the state capital, the festival grounds at Kisama Heritage Village become a hive of activity centred around cultural exchange and celebration.
Although the 2024 lineup is still in the works, the organizers have hinted at a strong lineup of both domestic and foreign performers who will push the festival’s musical offerings to new heights. Past editions of the festival have included performances in a variety of genres, including modern rock and pop and traditional Naga music.
The Hornbill Festival Celebrations comprise of the Traditional Naga Morungs Exhibition and sale of Arts and Crafts, Traditional songs, dances, Local Games, Traditional Archery, Naga wrestling, Flower shows and sales, Beauty Contest, Fashion shows, Herbal Medicine Stalls, Food Stalls, display of paintings, sculptures and wood carvings and a Musical concert where contemporary artists get a platform to display their creations.
The Hornbill National Rock Concert after sundown brings in the global festive flavor where rock Bands from all across the country as well as international boundaries come to compete in the concert. There is also a chilli eating competition.
25th Hornbill Festival venue and tickets
The 25th Hornbill Festival will be taking place at the Naga Heritage Village in Kisama, Kohima which is a small village of the Nagas, 12km from Kohima. The tickets of the event are priced at INR 20 โ INR 30 per day. Dimapur Railway Station is 2 hr 40 min away from the festival venue. ย Dimapur Airport is the nearest airport which is 2 hr 24 min away.
The festival begins at 9am everday and runs till late night.
