Have a look at the 2024 Le Mans winner prize money and results
Know all details about the 2025 24 Hours of Le Mans, which saw Ferrari driver Robert Kubica emerge victorious.
Ferrari clinched their third consecutive victory at the 24 Hours of Le Mans on Sunday, but it was Poland’s Robert Kubica who stole the spotlight by taking the chequered flag for the privately-run AF Corse team—outpacing the iconic red factory Ferraris. Kubica, a former Formula One driver, achieved the milestone in the distinctive yellow No. 83 car, which he shared with China’s Yifei Yi and Britain’s Phil Hanson. The trio completed 387 laps of the legendary Sarthe circuit.

Ferrari secured its third consecutive victory at the 24 Hours of Le Mans on Sunday, although a strong late push from Porsche Penske Motorsport prevented a complete sweep of the podium. The triumph came through the No. 83 Ferrari 499P, driven by Robert Kubica, Ye Yifei, and Philip Hanson. Entered by the privately run AF Corse team, the bright yellow car managed to outperform both Porsche and Ferrari’s two factory entries. This marked Ferrari’s 12th overall victory in the 93rd edition of the race.
The prizes in Le Mans are distributed as follows: qualified pilots will receive €7,000 for assistance; winners of the different race classes get €10,000, the overall winner receives €40,000, second place receives €25,000 and third place receives €20,000.
The “Virtual Le Mans Series,” a separate esports competition, offers a $250,000 prize pool and additionally, the winner of the 24 Hours of Le Mans receives a special engraved Rolex Cosmograph Daytona watch, a prestigious and valuable prize.

Speaking over the radio in Italian, Kubica acknowledged the endurance of the past 24 hours and encouraged his team to savor the moment. The No. 6 Porsche 963, operated by Penske Motorsport and driven by Kévin Estre, Laurens Vanthoor, and Matt Campbell, claimed second place, finishing just 14 seconds behind the winner following a dramatic late surge. Notably, the car narrowly edged out the two Ferraris entered by the factory team.

For Kubica and Ye, the victory offered redemption after a frustrating campaign the previous year. Their car at that time, which included Robert Shwartzman, had been forced to retire after facing a crash, a penalty, and a mechanical failure while running competitively. Kubica’s promising journey in Formula 1 had been interrupted in 2011 by a severe rally crash, yet he went on to become the first Polish driver to claim overall victory at Le Mans. Ye reached a historic milestone of his own, becoming the first driver from China to win the race outright.
In his post-race reflections, Ye described the result as the perfect conclusion to their journey with Kubica, while also pointing out that the challenge inside the car was far greater than it appeared from the outside. The race had started with the No. 83 Ferrari in 13th position, while the factory Ferraris began from 7th and 11th. Although qualifying had not gone in their favor, the team’s performance across longer race runs soon shifted momentum.
After tennis legend Roger Federer waved the starting flag, Ferrari’s rhythm and strategy quickly became evident. By early Sunday morning, Ferrari had looked on track to secure all three top spots, an outcome not achieved by a single manufacturer since 2012. The race was marked by the absence of major crashes and included just one safety car period. In other categories, Inter Europol Competition from Poland took the top spot in the LMP2 class, while Manthey Racing secured the GT3 title with a Porsche 911.
