A YouTuber’s airplane got crashed back in 2021. The plane was having a single engine and he made it crash in California national forest. The YouTuber downed aircraft for boosting views for a sponsorship deal, as reported by authorities on Thursday.

YouTuber Trevor Jacob who is 29 years old had a plea agreement which was filed in federal court, in LA.
Trevor Jacob has pleaded guilty to one count of destruction and concealment with the intent to obstruct an investigation, a crime that carries a high penalty of 20 years in prison, the U.S. Attorney’s Office of Central California stated via news release.
Jacob uploaded a video behind the charge, “I Crashed my own Airplane” on 23 December 2021. On Thursday. This 13-minute clip garnered 2.9 million views.
The video viral on the internet shows Jacob, described in the plea agreement as having experience flying and skydiving, taking off from Lompoc City Airport in the Taylorcraft BL-65 nearly a month back Jacob published a video.
Roughly one minute into the viral video, Jacob flies over Los Padres National Forest, and a camera mounted on his aircraft shows the propeller appears to stop working. The cameras captured him jumping from the plane and opening his parachute when the aircraft crashed in the mountains.
“Defendant intended to make money by promoting wallet in the video among other things which he was having, defendant, parachuting from a plane, and the airplane descending and crashing,” a report says.
Jacob admitted to the wreckage to the airplane hangar he used in Lompoc, cutting it and throwing it away, the agreement states.
Jacob had falsely told the agency that he experienced the full loss of power 35 minutes after take off. He decided to open the parachute from his airplane because Jacob couldn’t identify having safe landing option, agreement told
Jacob didn’t respond to the request for comment Thursday. His lawyer, Keri Axel, declined in the comments.
