Lizbeth Medina, a student at Edna High School, was discovered deceased in a bathtub by her mother, Jacqueline Medina, on Tuesday at their residence in the Cottonwood Apartments.

Situated in Jackson County, Edna is a town with a population of approximately 6,000, located between Houston and Victoria on Interstate 59.
The EPD, in collaboration with the Texas Rangers, is actively working to locate and bring to justice the individual responsible for Lizbeth’s death. Specific details about the investigation remain limited at this time.
Who was Lizbeth Medina?
Lizbeth, a cheerleader at Edna High School, was found lifeless in the bathtub of her and her mother’s unit at the Cottonwood Apartments.
The authorities are treating the case as a possible capital murder, although the cause of death has not been disclosed, and no information about the crime scene or potential suspects has been released.

Police Investigation

The EPD is collaborating with local law enforcement to enhance patrols in the area. Jacqueline Medina, heartbroken by the loss of her only child, is seeking justice and has set up a GoFundMe account to assist with expenses.
Having lived in Edna for about a year, she expressed living a nightmare and described the unimaginable pain of losing her daughter.
Lizbeth, who had a promising life ahead, was supposed to participate in the Christmas parade with the cheer squad but tragically never made it. Jacquelin, overwhelmed with grief, emphasized Lizbeth’s innocence and the tremendous outpouring of love and support from the tight-knit Edna community.
