On December 10, Ruth Madoc’s agent, Phil Belfield of Belfield & Ward Ltd, made the announcement of her demise. He said, “We must announce the passing of our dear and greatly loved client Ruth Madoc with great sadness.”
After having surgery due to a fall earlier in the week, Madoc passed away on December 9 while still in the hospital. After the incident, the beloved actress had to cancel her scheduled appearance in a pantomime in Torquay. “Her son Rhys, daughter Lowri, and her entire family are in our thoughts,” Belfield stated.

Madoc previously wed actor Philip Madoc; the couple had a son and a daughter together. The couple was married for 20 years until divorcing in 1981; they co-starred in The Life and Times of David Lloyd George.
1982 saw Madoc marry John Jackson a year later. They were married and shared a home in Gylnneath until his passing in September of last year.
In a Facebook post shared after Jackson passed away, his friend and producer Owen Money described Madoc’s husband as the “smartest, sweetest man” he had ever encountered.
