About Jaspal Rana
For the unfamiliar, Jaspal Rana, an Indian shooter and politician, is a four-time Asian Games gold medalist. He has been instrumental in shaping Bhaker’s career.
Jaspal Rana, born in Uttarkashi, Uttarakhand on June 28, 1976, is a member of Indian National Congress party since 2012. He is widely recognized in the field of shooting and even received Arjuna Award in 1994 and Padma Shri in 1997.

Recently, he was presented with Dronacharya Award in 2020. Under his tutelage, Bhaker experienced a golden period from 2018 to 2021, securing multiple ISSF World Cup medals and clinching the Commonwealth Games championship.
Jaspal Rana completed his schooling at the Kendriya Vidyalaya school, Air Force Station Tigri camp Tughlakabad, New Delhi.
Parents & Siblings
Jaspal Rana was born in Uttarkashi to a politician father, Narayan Singh Rana, who also played the role of his coach and guided him to participate in various competitions. Though much information isn’t available about his mother, but her name was Shyama Rana.
Jaspal also has two siblings Sushma Rana and Subhash Rana, who are also accomplished shooters.
The 48-year-old is married to a fashion designer, Reena Rana, and the couple shares two children namely Yuvraj Rana and Devanshi Rana.

Despite their initial success, Bhaker and Rana have seen their fair share of turmoil. The two parted ways in 2021, just before the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.
Post-Tokyo, Bhaker faced a challenging period, grappling with form and mental health. In a candid interview, earlier, she revealed that after losing last year, she “reached out to Jaspal Sir,” and the two agreed to “train together.”
