Fans Reaction
The fictitious viral tale, alleging that the official dropped a vape pen, possibly for marijuana, sparked a deluge of criticisms directed at officiating lapses.
A few fans floated a dubious theory that referees indulging in cannabis via a vaporizer before games could account for their recent subpar performances.
Adding a layer of irony to the narrative, Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel was previously caught using a vape pen on the sideline last season. At the age of 40, McDaniel admitted to this during an appearance on “The Pat McAfee Show” but vowed never to repeat it due to the unwanted media attention it generated.
The Titans, with a 5-8 record, secured their first road victory of the season in a dramatic 28-27 win over the Dolphins, who stand at 9-4. This should be the primary focus of the Monday Night Football aftermath, now that the pen incident has been clarified.
