After his altercation with Sports Illustrated reporter Grant Cohn, Javon Kinlaw has a slew of fans in the 49ers locker room.
Javon Kinlaw Confronts Grant Cohn And Knocks His Cap Off After Lambasting Him During Interview, Video Viral
San Francisco’s choice to draught Kinlaw, a defensive lineman who missed much of last season after tearing his ACL a year ago, in the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft has enraged Cohn. Kinlaw allegedly accosted Cohn during OTAs on Tuesday and knocked his hat off, according to Cohn.
Kinlaw went on Cohn’s YouTube program later that day and chastised him.
This is the type of low life we let into our building. He would rather antagonize and provoke players into hitting him so he can retire instead of doing his “job“ of journalism. pic.twitter.com/jL5ZGTq8yZ

A lot of Kinlaw’s teammates rallied to his support when the video went viral.
“This is the kind of jerk we let into our place.” “Rather than performing his ‘work,’ of journalism, he would rather agitate and push players into striking him so he can retire,” Kinlaw’s linemate Arik Armstead tweeted, posting a video of Cohn suggesting he could’ve retired a “multi-millionaire” if he’d been physically attacked.
Tight end with All-Pro status George Kittle reacted to Cohn’s statement that he may retire on his Instagram story.
Kittle stated, “It’s shocking to me that someone who is permitted inside our building has the mindset/goal of antagonizing and irritating gamers with their aim of becoming this.” “I thought reporters and players were supposed to collaborate.”
Raheem Mostert, a running back who spent six seasons with the 49ers before joining the Dolphins this summer, agreed.
He tweeted, “We’re often taught journalists and reporters have a job to accomplish.” “All right, I get it. But what about this? He stated that the thought of retirement as a multi-millionaire crossed his thoughts. @nfl@49ers, THIS IS INAPPROPRIATE.”
Deebo Samuel, a holdout wide receiver, also spoke up in Kinlaw’s defense.
In an interview with the 49ers’ web zone, Cohn answered.
“I was joking,” Cohn explained. “It seemed like the athletes were attempting to appear as though I went to work in the facility anticipating to be punched in the face so I could sue them.”
