Dutch motorcycle rider Victor Streeman has been in the news because he passed away, days after meeting an accident during the race with the video viral on YouTube

The Fédération Internationale de Motocyclisme (FIM) said on Tuesday that Dutch motorcycling star Victor Steeman passed just days after being injured in a Supersport 300 World Championship race in Portugal on Saturday.

According to Steeman’s family, the racer’s organ donation saved the lives of five further individuals. His family said in a statement,

Something you have always been afraid of as a parent of a motorcycle racer has now happened. Our Victor could not win this last race.

It also added,

We would like to thank everyone for the way you have lived with us over the past few days. We will miss our Victor enormously.

Who Was Victor Streeman?

Victor Streeman was a well-known Dutch motorcycle rider. He has been in the news because he died after being injured in a “multi-rider collision during the race.

He was born on June 15, 2000, in Zevenaar, Gelderland, Netherlands. He holds Dutch nationality.

He did his schooling at the local school in his hometown.

He died on October 11, 2022, in Faro, Portugal. At the time of his death, he was just 22 years old.

His Career

Victor Streeman started competing in motorcycle racing in the 2016 Red Bull Rookies Cup, where he also finished second. In the following year, he made his professional debut in the Supersport 300, competing in the final two Grand Prix of the Supersport 300 World Championship as a substitute driver.

He finished the Portimo GP in fifteenth place while riding the KTM RC 390 R, giving him his maiden world championship point. He was selected as a starting driver for the German team Freudenberg in the Supersport 300 World Championship for 2019.

He won his maiden pole position in the Jerez Grand Prix, allowing him to lead from the start of both of the races that took place during the competition.

Victor Streeman participated in the 600 class of the German IDM championship in 2020. He ended the season in sixth place after winning both races at Assen. He made a comeback in the 2021 Supersport 300 World Championship, riding a KTM with Freudenberg.

He earned his second pole position and won the opening race at the Most GP in the Czech Republic. He came in at number 10 overall for the season.

He switched to the Dutch MTM team in 2022 and began riding a Kawasaki. He earned his fourth pole position and second career victory at the Grand Prix of Assen. He continued to win races and had a chance to win the overall title.

Cause Of Death Of Victor Streeman

At the Supersport 300 World Championship race in Portugal on Saturday, Steeman was a part of a “multi-rider collision” that occurred during the first lap. On one of the last curves of the course, he lost his balance and flew off his bike.

According to the website of the biker group, Steeman was taken by medical personnel in serious condition to a nearby hospital after sustaining polytrauma and a brain injury.

When the body sustains damage to its organs as a result of “blast-related events,” this condition is referred to as polytrauma. He passed away from his injuries on Tuesday.
