Uncle Samsik will be released on May 15, 2024, as announced by Disney+ on Instagram. The show will have 16 episodes and is made by Slingshot Studio. The drama will start by releasing five episodes on its first day, and then two episodes will come out every week until June 19, 2024.
Uncle Samsik plot and cast
Uncle Samsik is about two friends in South Korea during the 1960s. It shows their close friendship and the challenges they deal with during a difficult time in the country’s history. Uncle Samsik features a famous cast from South Korea’s entertainment world.
The lead role is played by Song Kang-ho, a veteran actor with a long career. Joining him are Byun Yo-han and Jin Ki-joo, who are also well-known in the industry. Alongside them, there are other talented actors bringing the story to life. With such a talented lineup, the show promises to be captivating and full of stellar performances.
Song Kang-ho will portray the character of Uncle Samsik, also known as Park Doo-chil. Despite the turmoil of the 1960s war, Park Doo-chil ensures he eats three meals daily. When he meets Kim San, an elite man, they team up to build a nation where everyone can have a good life.
Byun Yo-han takes on the role of Kim San, a smart graduate. He switches his focus to economics while studying in the United States. Kim San aims to transform South Korea into an industrial powerhouse when he comes back. Originally from the Korean Military Academy, he struggles to improve the country’s tough situation.
That’s when Uncle Samsik steps in to help Kim San achieve his dream.In “Uncle Samsik,” Lee Kyu-hyung plays Kang Seong-min, who is running for the next leader position. Jin Ki-joo portrays Joo Yeo-jin, Kim San’s intelligent partner. Seo Hyun-woo takes on the role of Jung Han-min, a soldier from the Korean Military Academy.
He goes to the US for training with Kim San but decides to stay in the military and dreams of joining a revolution. In “Uncle Samsik,” Tiffany Young portrays Rachel Jeong, the younger sister of the director of the Albright Foundation. The director helps Kim San and Jung Ha-min train in the United States.
Rachel Jeong approaches Kim San with a hidden agenda. Additionally, Oh Seung-hoon plays Ahn Ki-cheol, the youngest son of Ahn Yo-seop. Oh Kwang-rok will take on the role of politician Joo In-tae, known for his unwavering commitment to national prosperity and peaceful coexistence.
Noh Jae-woo portrays Han-soo, leader of the Seodaemun faction, while Ryu Tae-ho plays Choi Han-rim, responsible for Kim San’s safety.
