After the establishment of the Beypore beach of Kerala, now the Udupi district tourism department with the support of the Beach maintenance team has installed a floating bridge. This beach is installed on Malpe beach.

The inauguration of the Udupi floating bridge was held on May 6th at 5:00 pm in the evening. The tourists can enjoy a new experience here of walking over the waves. The newly constructed bridge moves very smoothly with the rise and fall of the waves. The bridge also offers people to relish the splendid beauty of the water at the Malpe beach.
This floating bridge was officially inaugurated in May in the presence of the Udupi DC Mr. Kurma Rao M, MLA Mr. Raghupathi Bhat, and Udupi CMC president Mrs. Sumithra Nayak.
The guests for the function included Minister Pramod Madhwaraj, DK, and Udupi district Fish Federation president Yashpal Suvarna, Udupi CMC vice president Laxmi Manjunath, Commissioner Uday Shetty, District Tourism Director Clifford Lobo, Malpe PSI Sakthivelu and several other officials.
Dimensions Of The Floating Bridge And Cost
The bridge is around 100 meters in length and three and a half meters wide. It has a 15-meter wide platform at the end of the bridge for the tourists to enjoy the scenic beauty while the wave floats on the sea. INR 80 lakhs have been spent on the construction of this amazing bridge.

Individuals who are above the age of 5 years will have to pay INR 100 for experiencing a 15-minute fun session on the bridge. The bridge will be open for visitors from 9 am to 6 pm.
