After Friday’s matches at The Soccer Tournament 2023, the round-of-16 line-up is confirmed with Newtown Pride FC and Wrexham among qualified teams. On Saturday, Newtown Pride will face-off against DMV Diplomats with a quarterfinal spot at stake.

2023 The Soccer Tournament round-of-16 schedule, date, venue, format, latest scores, & qualified teams
It is known that The Soccer Tournament is an unique 7-on-7 competition in which the winning team will get a $1 million cash prize, while the other 31 competing teams will receive nothing. At the WakeMed Soccer Park in North Carolina, games of the inaugural edition will be played between 1st June and 4th June. With 32 teams, a group stage, and single-elimination knockouts that start in the Round-of-16, the football tournament is organized like a World Cup.
According to the format, top-two teams from each group will qualify for the 16-team knockout round, where they will compete in a single elimination knockout bracket to decide the victor. Games are divided into two 20-minute halves with an added Elam Ending. After the 40 minutes of regulation, there is an untimed extra period—during which there is no clock—played. To win the game, one of the teams must achieve a target score, which is set at one goal greater than the winning team’s total.
