Erwin and her buddy are sitting in a cafe at the beginning of the most recent chapter. Erwin’s friend confronts Lee Hansoo, demanding to know why he took Erwin to that risqué Tavern the night before, and advising him not to bother Erwin with questions about why he kept her out all night.
When Lee Hansoo presses for clarification, she questions whether he’s making an effort to appear dim. Erwin estimates that thirty hours have passed since they escaped the Labyrinth, but Lee Hansoo questions her about this.

Later on in the novel, when Erwin’s buddy hands him a bag of 350,000 stones and tells him that is how much money Erwin made for the essence, he is confused and thinks it is a scene from a play because he expects her to throw the money in his face as a form of revenge.
