The pilot program, which started in October 2022 and ended in March 2023, is currently being evaluated by authorities in order to determine how it should go moving forward.
According to the Navy spokesperson, one of just five current sailors, Kelley, who identifies as non-binary, was chosen to serve as a “digital ambassador” for the Navy’s new program, which was intended to investigate the internet world to reach a wide spectrum of possible applicants.
The spokesperson stated that no advertising or recruitment materials featuring the ambassadors exist, adding that the Navy did not reward YN2 Kelley or any other individual for becoming Navy Digital Ambassadors.
Since then, Joshua has become a popular topic of discussion, with many people trying to find out more about him. So, here’s what we know about him:
Who is Joshua Kelley?
Joshua Kelley is a well-known American active-duty drag queen. He has been in the news because he is going to serve as the “Navy Digital Ambassador.”
He is a resident of Berwick, Pennsylvania, and is currently 29 years old. Following in his father’s footsteps, he enlisted in the Navy in 2016. He is also known by his stage name, “Harpy Daniels.”
Joshua Kelley previously asserted that the queens on RuPaul’s Drag Race, which he started watching when he was 16 years old, served as motivation for him to begin acting in drag years before enlisting in the Navy. He started performing on ships, after taking first place in an MWR (Morale, Welfare, and Recreation) lip-syncing contest in 2017 while stationed on the USS Ronald Reagan.
Reportedly, he never experienced harassment while serving in the Navy, but his participation in a diversity, equality, and inclusion event at Langley Joint Air Force Base in the summer of 2022 created an outcry among many conservatives and religious extremists.
