2023 National Games Of India results today, key performers, and medal winners
The upcoming 2023 National Games of India will feature an array of new sporting disciplines, including beach football, roll ball, golf, sepaktakraw, sqay martial arts, kalliyarapattu, and pencak silat. On the inaugural day of gymnastics competition at the 37th National Games held in Goa, the Services Sports Promotion Board (SSPB) and West Bengal secured the top positions in the men’s and women’s artistic team events, respectively.
In the men’s artistic team event, the SSPB, represented by Abhijeet Kumar, Anas Ali Shaikh, Gaurav Kumar, Rakesh Kumar Patra, Saif Sadik Tamboli, and Tapeswaranath Das, displayed an outstanding performance, accumulating a total score of 249.35 points. This remarkable achievement placed them comfortably ahead of the second-placed team from Uttar Pradesh, who scored 242.10 points. Haryana secured the bronze medal with a combined score of 240.35.
Meanwhile, in the women’s artistic team event, West Bengal demonstrated their prowess by earning a total of 175.90 points, claiming the state’s inaugural gold medal in the discipline. Maharashtra secured the silver medal with a total score of 166.95, while Uttar Pradesh took the third position with 142.30 points, even after a deduction from their overall score.

In 2022, over 7,000 athletes participated in 36 different sports, and it is expected that in 2023, the athlete count will surpass 10,000. To facilitate broad accessibility, the National Games 2023 will be available for live streaming on the Prasar Bharati Sports YouTube channel, while the DD Sports TV channel will offer a live broadcast.
