Wesley Sneijder, a former star for the Netherlands, and Lionel Messi, the captain of Argentina, had both received four FIFA World Cup MOM awards. Sneijder received his four awards while playing for his country at the 2010 World Cup, where they finished as runners-up. During the 2014 World Cup, Lionel Messi of Argentina got his fourth MOM award. He was also named the FIFA World Cup player since he felt his country came close to winning the tournament.
At the World Cup, which took place in 2018, England’s Harry Kane, Croatia’s Luka Modric, France’s Antoine Griezmann, and Belgium’s Eden Hazard shared three MOM awards. As his team defeated Croatia to win the World Cup, Griezmann earned his third MOM award.
