A UFC legend, Chuck Liddell was brought into custody when a home in Hidden Hills, California complained to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Information Bureau (SIB) about a domestic disturbance at about midnight Monday morning.

Why Was Chuck Liddell Arrested And Who Is His Wife

It was later determined that there had in fact been a physical altercation involving Chuck Liddell and he was arrested for alleged domestic battery. The 51-year old MMA fighter was released on $20,000 bond around 10 A.M. local time.

Late on Monday afternoon Liddell let out a statement on Instagram stating that he was the one who had been a victim of the domestic abuse. He further went on to say that he had sustained bruises and injuries but himself volunteered to go into custody in his wife’s place.

Born on 15th July 1980, Chuck’s wife Heidi was brought up in California, United States and she graduated from Marina High School in 1997 before going on to study Management Information and Natural Science at the University of Southern California.

Liddell was inducted into the UFC Hall of Fame in 2009 and is one of the highest-selling pay-per-view draws in UFC history. A former UFC light heavyweight champion, Liddell has had victories over fighters like Randy Couture, Tito Ortiz, Vitor Belfort and Wanderlei Silva.

Chuck is famously known as “the Iceman” which was a name coined by his trainer, John Hackleman to Liddell for his calm and relaxed temperament before fights.

“My pulse rate rarely goes up or down, no matter how tense or relaxed the situation. That’s how I got my nickname: the Iceman,” he had said previously.

His UFC record stands at 21-8-0.


When did Chuck Liddell retire?

Liddell retired from the UFC in 2010, only to return to the cage for a fight in 2018 with his popular old rival Ortiz under the Golden Boy Promotions Banner. Unfortunately, Liddell got knocked out by Ortiz in the first round itself. Liddell was stopped by KO/TKO in four consecutive bouts.
