He had suffered cardiac arrest and was undergoing treatment in a private hospital.
71 year old K Shivram was born in the Ramanagara District on April 6, 1953. His mother was Chikkaboramma, and his father, late S. Kempaiah was a dramatist. After completing his elementary education in his village, he relocated to Bangalore to attend Malleshwaram Government School for his high school education.
He began working as a police reporter for the Crime Investigation Department (India) in May 1973. He pursued further education while serving in the military and graduated from V. V. Puram Evening College of Arts & Commerce with a Bachelor of Arts degree.

In 1982, he received a Master of Arts (History) degree via correspondence from the Open University of Mysore. After passing the K.A.S. exam in 1985, he was chosen to be the deputy superintendent of police.
He was married to Vani Shivram and they have a daughter who is married to Kannada actor Pradeep.
K Shivaram career
K Shivaram was the first person in India to pass the IAS exam in Kannada. He served as a civil servant in several regions of Karnataka including Vijayapura, Bengaluru, Mysuru, Koppala, and Davangere, before entering the world of cinema.
After retiring from his civil service career, Shivaram ventured into acting by making his debut in Sandalwood with the film “Ba Nalle Madhuchandrake.” He also appeared in other notable films such as “Vasanta Kavya” and “Sangliana 3.”
In 2013, after retiring, K Shivaram entered politics and aligned himself with the Congress party. He contested for a Lok Sabha seat from the Vijayapura constituency in 2014, albeit unsuccessfully. Later, he shifted to the BJP, where he continued his political journey, advocating for the rights of the Dalit community.
