He established the Shaukat Khanum Memorial Trust in 1991 as a charitable organisation bearing his mother’s name, Mrs Shaukat Khanum. Khan established Pakistan’s first and only cancer hospital as the trust’s initial project, raising more than $25 million in donations from around the world.
Khan completed the construction of Namal College, a technical college, in the Mianwali District on April 27, 2008. In December 2005, it became an affiliated college of the University of Bradford and was constructed by the Mianwali Development Trust.
