The 2022 Singapore Open, which has been a part of the Singapore Open championships since 1987, is the fourteenth event on the 2022 BWF World Tour. The Singapore Badminton Association is in charge of organizing this competition with BWF approval.

The 2022 Singapore Open, also known as the Singapore Badminton Open 2022, is a badminton competition that runs from July 12 through July 17 in Singapore at the Singapore Indoor Stadium and features a $370,000 prize pool. The Singapore Indoor Stadium is where this international competition is place.

2022 Singapore Open Badminton Men’s Singles First Round Draw, Fixtures, Players List

The sole seeded participant in the Men’s Singles is Srikanth Kidambi, who won silver at the World Championship. After the Indonesia Open, he will play again as the seventh seed. Following Viktor Axelsen’s withdrawal, Srikanth is the only seeded player remaining in the first quarter of the draw. He first faces a qualifier to start the competition. Sai Praneeth of India is also in the neighborhood. In the opening round, the former champion will compete against Zhao Junpeng of China.

The draws place HS Prannoy, who has been playing well this year, in the second quarter. In the opening round of his campaign, he takes on Sitthikom Thammasin of Thailand. The third seed Chou Tien Chen and the fifth seed Jonatan Christie are in a difficult quarter with him. Parupalli Kashyap of India is also in this quadrant and will play Jonatan Christie in the first round. In the meantime, Sameer Verma is positioned in the final quadrant of the draws and will face Li Shifeng of China, who is not seeded. The only other player in this quarter with a seed is Loh Kean Yew, the sixth seed.

Points Award System

The BWF World Tour Super 500 competition’s point distribution for each round was determined using the BWF scoring system. Men’s Singles tournament winners receive 9,200 BWF points, while runners-up receive 7,800. Competitors seeking to climb the BWF World Rankings will definitely be encouraged by the large amount of points available for grabs.
