The lone seeded pair from India, Satwik Rankireddy & Chirag Shetty, will face Christo Popov & Toma Junior Popov, a local favorite, to open their 2022 French Open campaign. Arjun & Kapila, the other men’s doubles team from India, will have a difficult time upsetting Alfian & Ardianto, the fifth-seeded team from Indonesia.

Treesa Jolly & Gayatri Gopichand, the lone pair from India competing in women’s doubles, will take on Thailand’s sixth-seeded pair, Kititharakul & Prajongjai in first-round. Ishaan Bhatnagar & Tanisha Cresto will be the sole Indian duo competing in the mixed doubles event, going up against Yamashita & Shinoya from Japan in first-round of French Open.

Owing to unfavorable draw for Indian participants in doubles category, medal hopes are low. However, it isn’t far-fetched to assume seventh-seeded Indian duo of Satwik & Chirag might be able to finish on podium given they perform at their best.
