Mushtaq Kak was born in 1961. He was 5ft 9in tall and 75 kg in weight. Kak’s educational background is not known. Mushtaq Kak’s parents were from Jammu & Kashmir; his father was Kashmiri (from the Kak caste), and his mother was Dogra. The name of Mushtaq’s wife is not known.
Renowned artist and Sangeet Natak awardee Mushtaq Ahmed Kak died after a prolonged illness at the age of 61.
Mushtaq Kak was the artistic director at the Shri Ram Centre in New Delhi. He won Best Director awards for plays like Andha Yug, Malika, and Pratibimb. His plays Maha Brahmin and Alladad were recognized as the best in 1999 and 2000.
He directed over 100 plays by various writers, including works by Saadat Hasan Manto, Anton Chekhov, Vijay Tendulkar, and others. His production “Andorra” with Kartik Chaudhry was a major success. Apart from theater, he acted in Hindi and Hollywood movies like Hijack, Sikandar, Amal, Shikara, Vishwaroopam, Romeo Akbar Walter, Kesari, The Family Man, and Dishoom.
Mushtaq Kak played roles in several popular Indian movies from 2007 to 2022. In the film “Amal” (2007), he portrayed a character named Doctor. In “Hijack” (2008), he took on the role of the main villain, Mushtaq.
His performance as Moulvi Allah Baksh in “Sikandar” (2009) was noteworthy. He appeared in “Vishwaroopam-I” (2013) as Manawar, and in “Dishoom” (2016) and “M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story” (2016), he played the roles of a Shopkeeper.
Continuing his cinematic journey, Mushtaq Kak featured in “Vishwaroopam II” (2018) as Manawar, “Romeo Akbar Walter” (2019) as Joker, and “The Family Man” (2019) as General Khursheed. He played Masud sahib in “Shikara” (2020) and portrayed a Shopkeeper in “I AM Mega” (2020 film). His roles in “Kesari” (2019) as Ameer and “Tejas” (2023) as Khatooni further showcased his versatility as an actor in the Indian film industry.
