69th Senior National Men’s Kabaddi Championship Final Result, Score, Winners, And Match Events
In the first quarterfinal of the day, Indian Railways defeated Tamil Nadu 44–26 after a commanding performance. Meanwhile, Goa defeated Uttar Pradesh with a score of 41-38 to advance to the semifinals in a spirited contest. With a score of 48-28, hosts Haryana thrashed Services, who were the finalists in each of the previous five editions and emerged victorious in the matchup of the heavyweights. Elsewhere, Chandigarh’s amazing run came to an end when Maharashtra won 39-21.
In the first semi-final, Haryana quickly pulled ahead of Aslam Inamdar-led Maharashtra thanks to the raiding partnership of Meetu & Mohit Goyat. However, after a quick response, Maharashtra went into the break with a 5-point lead as the score remained at 16-11 in favor of them. Through the contributions of Kiran Laxman’s High 5 and Akash Shinde’s Super 10, Maharashtra remained in the lead and the 65th edition champions eventually defeated the home team by a score of 33-27.
Indian Railways grabbed an early lead and led 36-13 at the break in the second semi-final. While Shrikant Jadhav led Goa in scoring with 7 points, they were unable to mount a comeback as Pawan Sehrawat’s 14 points ensured that the defending champions maintained their advantage. Indian Railways’ final match versus Maharashtra appeared equally matched as they aimed to win another championship after winning 43-20.
This aim became a reality as Indian Railways defeated Maharashtra 38-21 in the final to win the championship. With nine raid points, Pawan Sehrawat made sure the defending champs maintained a tight hold on the game. With a total of 13 tackle points, they neutralized Maharashtra’s onslaught and made sure they had another victory to add to their already impressive collection of trophies.
